I always wondered how this quote, in a different story, relates to Seymour’s suicide in “Bananafish,” did he decide he was so happy it was the perfect time to die? Then what about his outburst on the elevator? Probably obvious, but I like to let my mind attempt to dissect it, even if the meaning is obvious or there is no meaning at all. Any ideas?
